Image Resources: Finding and Using Image Resources

NSCAD Licensed Image Collections

The NSCAD Library subscribes to databases containing high quality image collections licensed for educational use.   These databases are accessible through the Databases A-Z Page. To login off-campus or through your mobile device you will need to authenticate as a NSCAD user through the proxy server. To gain access you need to input your Webadvisor username and password.

Using Open Web Image Collections

The open web resources listed on this guide provide access to image resources from a variety of libraries, archives, museums, galleries, and other sources. Before using images from any of these collections check and confirm terms of use and licensing conditions.

Open Access Collections

The collections listed here include public domain and creative commons collections that provide access to images that are free to display, remix, and use. When using these collections it is still important to check the original source of specific images, and confirm terms of use and licensing conditions as not all collections strictly check the copyright status of image submissions.
