PNTG Seminar 4102, "Colouring": December 6, Psychedelia

The Atlas Group/Walid Raad, 'Let's be Honest -- The Weather Helped", Saudi Arabia, 1998-2006

Lebanese artist Walid Raad's work is both documentary and fictional, addresses the turbulent recent history f the Middle East while simultaneously destabilizing the viewer's preconceived ideas of 'the truth'. 'Let's Be Honest, the Weather Helped" shows a bullet-scarred wall in Saudi Arabia decorated with coloured dots, each of which describes the bullet casing and size of the shell that struck that particular target in the ongoing wars.
