Library - Visual Resources Collection Guide: Home

A guide to the services and resources of NSCAD's Visual Resources Collection.

NSCAD Visual Resources Collection

Welcome to the NSCAD Visual Resources Collection!  The information in this guide will help you to navigate the resources offered in the collection, and to help you gain additional assistance with your research.  Here you will find out how to use our online digital image resources, and film and video collections, located on-campus.  In the VRC you will find an array of collections for study and research. We have NSCAD's special collection of artist's books and rare books, our fantastic and vast exhibition catalogue collection, and circulating DVDs. The NSCAD Library provides access to ARTstor, a vast and broad collection of art and culture images for education, and to FADIS, an image resource provided to Canadian education institutions.  Our aim is to assist with all the aspects of media and image use for education, such as research, copyright, and presentation. The NSCAD Visual Resources Collection (VRC) was initiated to support the teaching of NSCAD's art history department more than 30 years ago, and over the years has extended its collection to serve the wider scope of NSCAD's community.

The Visual Resources Collection is open Monday to Friday with varying hours - check for updates. It is located on  the third floor, Fountain Campus, 5163 Duke Street entrance (third floor by elevator or stairs).
